Physics 240AB
Condensed Matter Physics
Course information
Physics 240AB is an introduction to condensed matter physics. It
often uses the text book by Ashcroft and Mermin. The course covers
basics such as crystal structure, phonons, and Fermi gas properties
and extends to quantum oscillations, optical properties of solids,
semiconductors, magnetic resonance, and some modern topics as time
allows. Superconductivity and magnetic order are generally left
for 240C.
