Party boy buns go on the back of the head, lower than the usual ballet buns. From the front, the bun shouldn't be at all visible. Start out by working in some hair gel as you smooth the hair away from the face. Make a pony tail with a hair tie holding it in place. Then wrap the pony tail around the hair tie. It can help if you twist the pony tail slightly as you go.
Once you're finished wrapping the pony tail, put in a hairpin or two to hold it in place. Add a hairnet, crossing it over the bun two or three times. Put in additional hairpins to hold the hairnet and bun firmly in place. Have the child jump up and down a few times to make sure it doesn't fall out.
