You need to supply:
1. pink ballet slippers for flat casts
2. pink pointe shoes for pointe casts
3. pink tights (no seams)
4. under leotard of neutral color
Rest of costume is provided:
skirt and bodice
headpiece
There is a costume fee of $25 per
child (a flat fee, regardless of how many parts the child dances) that covers purchase,
repair, and cleaning of the costumes. Make check payable to Hanneke Lohse,
and give to Scherezada Moreno.
Dressing for the performance:
Have both your pointe shoes and flat slippers
with you at the theater. If a dancer gets sick and we need a replacement,
it's possible that a cast may change from pointe to flat or vice versa.
In the same vein, girls who are dancing soldier or rat in a show should
still have their flower things with them in case a substitute is needed.
Hair is worn in a bun at the crown of
the head, with a hair net that matches your
hair color.
Makeup: use pink lipstick. Blush,
mascara, and eye makeup in neutral shades are all fine. No fingernail
polish and no glitter.
NO JEWELRY. Remove watches, rings, bracelets,
necklaces, and earrings.
Arrive
90 minutes before the show starts. The dancers usually warm up on stage
before putting on their costumes. We will call in replacements for
anyone not present 45 minutes before showtime.
If you are sick on the day of the
performance, contact Tiffany or Beatriz as soon as possible.
