Rena Zieve

I am a Professor in the Physics Department at the University of California at Davis. This winter I am teaching Physics 204B, Mathematical Methods in Physics.

I do experimental research on superconductors and superfluids at temperatures below 1K, as well as some room-temperature work. My interests include heavy fermions, superfluid helium vortices, and granular materials. I frequently work with undergraduates. I have no room for new undergraduates as of December 2011, but I expect to have space in Fall 2012. Contact me if you're interested.

I also coordinate the REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) program, which supports about 12 undergraduates for summer research in the physics department.

Apart from physics, I enjoy hiking, classical music, and cooking.
