I am a Professor in the Physics Department at the University of California at Davis. I am not teaching this spring.
I do experimental research on superconductors and superfluids at temperatures below 1K, as well as some room-temperature work. My interests include unconventional superconductors, superfluid helium vortices, and granular materials. I frequently work with undergraduates. I will next have room for new students in Fall 2012. Contact me if you're interested.
I also coordinate the REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) program, which supports about 12 undergraduates for summer research in the physics department.
Apart from physics, I enjoy hiking, classical music, and cooking.
